Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions you or your child can experience. Through counseling and treatment, I can help your child recover motivation, perspective, and joy. I use a variety of treatment approaches such as non-directive play therapy, cognitive based treatment, somatic integration therapy, and trauma informed services as appropriate.
What are problematic sexual behaviors vs healthy sexual behaviors? Children engage in a range of exploratory sexual behaviors. Some are age appropriate and some are beyond. A child's age and developmental level are key to understanding whether a child's behaviors are normal or represent a potential problem.
If your child is struggling with issues related to healthy sexual boundaries I can help. Understanding healthy, appropriate boundaries builds self-esteem and confidence in our children.
If you or your child are struggling with issues related to trauma, some of the symptoms you may be experiencing are racing thoughts, anger, depression, hyperactivity, ruminating thoughts/flashbacks and/or hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. I can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing. I seek to provide trauma-informed, somatic experiencing, and person centered therapy.
